Bus service to replace trains during repair work

A bus service will replace the Coleraine to Portrush railway line between March 12 and 27 due to engineering work.

Bus substitutions will operate from Portrush Rail Station to Coleraine Buscentre serving the University of Ulster campus.

Translink’s Frank Moore said: “The track closure is essential to facilitate engineering works to upgrade the line. Buses will also connect with the onward train service at Coleraine for travel to or from Londonderry and Belfast and customers can use NI Railways tickets on this substitution service.

“During the 16-day line closure period Dhu Varren halt will also be closed to facilitate engineering work and passengers are advised to go to Portrush Rail Station to use the bus substitution service.

“Passengers are also reminded that frequent scheduled Ulsterbus services 140a/b also operate between Coleraine and Portrush.”
