Bus windows smashed by stone-throwing youths in west Befast

Windows have been smashed on buses as they came under fire from youths in west Belfast.

Police are appealing for information following two attacks on buses driving along the Falls Road at approximately 6.45pm on Thursday.

At approximately 6.45pm a group of youths were seen throwing stones in the Milltown Cemetery area onto the Falls Road.

A number of windows were smashed on two buses as they were travelling on the road.

Inspector Alan Swann said: “This attack could have caused a collision, hit someone on the bus or hit a pedestrian resulting in serious injury.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed or who has any information about the incident to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
