A Sinn Fein councillor has called for vigilance after needles were discovered in Ross Street flats area of west Belfast.
Mary McConville said the flats have become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour.
"This is intolerable for local people. Entrances into the flats were defaced and rubbish scattered over a wide area of the flats.
"I would ask parents and people in the area to be vigilant.
"Needles used by drug users were among the items abandoned in the flats. This is very dangerous and whoever is responsible has no concern about the safety of those in the area.”
