Call for witnesses as man remains critical after Omagh quad hit-and-run

The PSNI has appealed to anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run incident involving a quad bike in Omagh to come forward.

The incident happened on the Erganagh Road on the northern outskirts of the town last Friday night.

Issuing a fresh appeal, Chief Inspector Clive Beatty said: "Police attended the scene at approximately 10.45pm. The man had sustained serious head injuries and was receiving treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being taken to hospital." 

“I am continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time, particularly regarding the movements of two quad motorbikes to contact officers in Omagh Police Station."

Members of the public are asked to contact police through the non-emergency number on 101 and should quote 1438 of 07/07/2017.

Alternatively witnesses can contact independent charity Crimestoppers and give information anonymously on 0800 555 111.
