A local Craigavon councillor has called for an end to "portaloo tipping" in the area, after a number of incidents in recent days.

SDLP councillor Thomas Larkham said that there were a number of portaloos erected for Virgin Media staff carrying out work in the area.

He said that they were being tipped over "on a daily basis".

Councillor Larkham described the portaloo tipping as a "new game in town" and said that while it may "seem like great fun" it was causing issues for contractors and local residents.

He explained that the waste contents of the portaloos were spilling out onto paths and green spaces and had to be cleared up.

"I have spoken to Virgin Media and contractors about this and they would be very grateful if the local community could work with them to help alleviate this problem," Councillor Larkham said.
