A car has been destroyed in an overnight attack - yards from where a woman was forced to leave her home.

The Volkswagen Touran was set alight in the early hours of yesterday morning on Manor Street in north Belfast.

On Sunday a mother mourning her son, who lives close by, was ordered to leave her property.

Police do not believe the two attacks are linked in any way.

In a statement issued on behalf of the family, the DUP said that the disabled owner had been left "deeply shocked and disgusted" by the arson attack.

The PSNI has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
