Car thieves in crash threaten man with screwdriver in south Belfast

A man was threatened with a screwdriver following a collision involving a stolen car in south Belfast during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of common assault in Dunluce Avenue on April 5 at around 12.50am. A stolen car collided into another car when it was travelling the wrong way up the one-way street.

Two males got out of the blue Peugeot and threatened the driver of the other car with a screwdriver.

The men from the stolen car made off on foot in the direction of the Lisburn Road.

They wered both wearing dark sports clothing.

The driver and his passenger in the other car were not injured.

Information can be reported to CID at Musgrave Street on 101.
