Caroline Wozniacki sizzles in raunchy shoot but is it a flaunt too far for Rory McIlroy's ex?
Antics betray a sense of desperation as McIlroy keeps counsel
Staring seductively into the camera, thumb hooked suggestively into her skimpy, white bikini bottoms, Caroline Wozniacki looks stunning in a photoshoot for American magazine Sports Illustrated.
Posing against a cheeky sign that reads "swimsuits optional beyond this point", the Danish tennis star and former fiancee of Rory McIlroy shows off her toned, taut physique in a range of risque photographs.
While the statuesque blonde undoubtedly sizzles in the photoshoot, there's something rather desperate about her latest attempt to grab attention, and her "look at me" behaviour in the wake of her highly publicised split from the world's number one golfer is beginning to wear thin.
McIlroy, on the other hand, has been a paragon of maturity since he called off the engagement in May 2014. While he might have handled the break-up better - realising he wasn't ready for marriage after the wedding invitations had gone out - he has redeemed himself in the eyes of the public.
He conducted himself in a dignified manner during the recent legal dispute with his former agent Horizon Sports Management, agreeing to a settlement that was "to the satisfaction of both parties". And he impressed all those he met at the Daisy Lodge short-break centre for children with cancer, donating £1m to the Newcastle charity.
It's fair to say McIlroy has grown up over the last year, refusing to be drawn into any public spats with his tennis star ex. Not long after the couple split, Wozniacki changed her Twitter avatar to a picture of her dressed as a witch at a cauldron, perhaps sending out a message that she was brewing up a few spells.
Her next dig at McIlroy was unmistakable though. The 5ft 8in Wozniacki took to Twitter, posting a photograph of herself in high heels during a shopping trip in Turkey, where she was competing in the Istanbul Cup. "Out and about in Istanbul," she tweeted. "It's been three years since I have worn high heels on a normal day out."
Even when she should have been concentrating on her tennis, McIlroy was never far from her mind. And that's why these latest photographs for Sports Illustrated seem to scream: "I haven't gone away you know."
Of course, she's not the first woman to flaunt herself in the face of an ex in a "look what you're missing" fashion, and she won't be the last. But Wozniacki might feel better about herself if she focused more on her sport and less on revenge.
