Three children, a man and a woman escaped injury after a pterol bomb was thrown at a house at Oakwood Road in Carrickfergus on Sunday night.

It was reported to police that a petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of the house at around 11.30pm.

The window was smashed however, the device failed to ignite, and has now been taken for forensic examination.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information about the incident to contact them in Larne on 101 quoting reference 1405 31/07/16.
