Cash and jewellery box stolen in Dromore burglary

A sum of cash and a jewellery box has been stolen from a house in Dromore during a burglary.

Detectives in Lurgan received reports between 8.15pm on Thursday and 2am Friday morning.

An intruder gained entry to the property and a sum of cash and a jewellery box was taken.

It is believed the intruder fled the scene on foot in the direction of the Hillsborough Road.

Detective Sergeant Patterson said: "We would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or who has information which could help in our investigation, to contact detectives in Lurgan quoting reference number 197 of 19/01/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
