Cash stolen in armed robbery

Detectives are appealing for information after a small sum of money was stolen during an armed robbery in Londonderry.

It happened in the Carnhill area last Friday at around 10.45pm.

Two men, one armed with a suspected firearm and the other with an iron bar, entered a mobile shop which was parked at the side of the road and threatened a member of staff.

The men made off on foot with a small sum of money.

The member of staff was not injured but was badly shaken.

Both men wore dark clothes and gloves and are believed to have made off in the direction of the Shantallow estate.
