CCTV footage of 'one-punch attack' by Ballycastle man Barry Lyttle on younger brother Patrick in Australia

CCTV footage was shown to an Australian court this morning of the 'one-punch' attack by Co Antrim man Barry Lyttle on his younger brother Patrick.

Mr Lyttle has pleaded guilty in an Australian court to charges relating to a one-punch attack on his little brother Patrick.

He pleaded guilty to the charge of causing grievous bodily harm.

Barry Lyttle, from Ballycastle, County Antrim, was filmed on CCTV punching his younger brother, Patrick, outside a nightclub in Sydney in January.

The maximum sentence the 33-year-old now faces is two years in prison having pleaded guilty at Local Court – opposed to a possible ten had the case been heard in District Court.

Mr Lyttle accepted that following an argument with Patrick in the early hours of January 3rd, he inflicted one punch to his head.

Patrick stumbled backwards and hit his head on the pavement, suffering a serious head injury.

Despite medics initially not showing optimism for his recovery, Patrick made a remarkable turnaround just weeks later.

He has since spoken publicly on the incident, asking that the charges against his brother be dropped.
