Chinese man in custody on charges of posting cannabis to Belfast
A Chinese man was remanded into custody on Friday on charges linked to herbal cannabis being sent through the post to Belfast.
Several kilos of the drugs were recovered earlier this week following a joint operation between the PSNI and Home Office immigration officials.
Long Fei Xu appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court accused of seven offences in connection with the investigation.
The 27-year-old, with an address at Thorndale Avenue in the city, is charged with conspiracy to supply and possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply on November 1.
Further counts include having and converting criminal property, namely cash, and breaching immigration restrictions by overstaying leave to remain in the UK.
Xu did not seek bail during the brief hearing.
He was remanded in custody to appear again by video-link in two-weeks time.
