Chip shop targeted by arsonists
A Co Antrim chip shop owner who has been subjected to on-going attacks from youths in the area said someone could have been killed in the most recent incident on Friday evening.
Sara Anderson, owner of Sara’s Plaice on Glenavy’s Main Street, described how her daughter opened the door of the flat at the back of the chip shop.
She was then overcome by smoke from a fire she believes was lit on purpose by people who want to force her out of the area.
Friday’s incident is the latest in a long line of attacks which Mrs Anderson says date back four years.
Police confirmed they received a report of a fire at the fast food outlet in Glenavy shortly before 5pm on Friday.
The area was cordoned off while the scene was examined and there were no reports of any injuries.
