TV star apartment hunting with fiancé Frank

She's one of Northern Ireland's most famous exports – and now Christine Bleakley is about to take on the Big Apple.

The Newtownards television presenter has revealed she has been on the hunt for a property in New York with her footballer fiancé Frank Lampard, following the end of her four-year deal with ITV.

The presenter still has projects in the pipeline with ITV, but it is understood the end of her £4 million contract frees her up to work for other broadcasters.

Christine already has homes in London and Northern Ireland. Now she looks set to add to her property portfolio following 36-year-old Lampard's signing for new Major League Soccer club New York City FC.

He joins the club next March, but will spend the next six months on loan at Manchester City.

And it seems Christine is already attracting attention in the United States, with the Washington Post including her in a recent list of the '10 Most Eye-Catching WAGs'. Speaking to the New York Post's gossip section, Page Six, the former Daybreak presenter said: "I'm easy-going. I'll try to make this work for him (Lampard), but don't want to live off him.

"Back home, I'm on Ireland's channel and do ITV documentaries – a music special, an Ireland and Britain tour.

"I'm still doing that until his season starts. With all this toing and froing, I've no idea what my career here will be." The former Dancing On Ice host told the American newspaper she enjoys her time in the city.

She said: "I'm from Northern Ireland, living in London. I love it here. Love Bloomingdale's. Love walking through the city, although I don't know always where I'm heading.

"We are stuck in a hotel now, we're looking for an apartment.

"I've been (to New York) before, but you need a feel for the place. Don't want to get it wrong. People are helping but, basically, just Frank and I are looking. Ideal is a view. Four bedrooms. He has two little girls we want to look out for."

Lampard's two daughters Luna (8) and Isla (7) are from his previous relationship with former fiancée Elen Rivas.

They split in 2008 after seven years together, a year before he started dating Ms Bleakley.

A spokesman for Christine said: "Christine will not be relocating to New York. She will remain based in London and will travel to and from for the duration of Frank's time (in New York)," he said.

He pointed to the presenter's ongoing commitments with ITV, including an upcoming six-part travelogue series and a stint on This Morning.

Christine Bleakley (35) is from Newtownards and began her career at Citybeat Radio in Belfast before moving to BBC Northern Ireland. She was then noticed by the BBC in London and invited over to host the hugely popular One Show. In 2010 she made a high-profile transfer from the BBC to ITV in a deal that involved teaming up with Adrian Chiles to take over the revamped morning programme Daybreak. The presenting pair were dropped the next year – in the same year Christine got engaged to then-Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard. The 36-year-old left the Blues at the end of last season.
