Christmas Eve burglaries: Presents stolen in north Belfast

Police are investigating a series of Christmas Eve burglaries in north Belfast where presents were stolen.

It happened in the Woodvale/Workman area at breakfast time on Thursday morning.

A purse was also taken along with the presents.

Police are appealing for any information about the possible culprit who a witness in the area described as being a 20-year-old male, 5ft 9 inches tall, of medium build wearing jeans, a black top and a grey hoody.

He may have made off towards the West Circular Road through the Invest NI/Old Mackies site.

A PSNI sergeant said: "It goes without saying that burglary is a horrible crime, and at this time of year it can be even worse for the victims. We are carrying out a full investigation and NPT officers will be in touch with the victims."
