The Church of Ireland will bring its prayer books into the digital age with the launch of its new app today.
The Book of Common Prayer will be launched in app form in Armagh, and will see the church take a major step into the smartphone era.
The Daily Worship App is an initiative by the Church's Central Communication Board, in close cooperation with the Church's Liturgical Advisory Committee.
It will see Bible readings, prayers, canticles and Services from the Book of Common Prayer in one simple and easy accessible format.
The Most Revd Pat Storey, chair of the Central Communications Board, expressed her delight at the launch of the app and the efforts made to bring people closer to the church.
"It is a powerful thing for a community such as the Church of Ireland to be praying together, and using the same daily readings, through the vehicle of a smartphone application."
