City shoppers shuttle off to Lisburn Road

City shoppers will have the opportunity to be escorted to the variety of shops along Lisburn Road over the coming month

The ‘Lisburn Road Courtesy Bus’ has been laid on by Lisburn Road Business Association in conjunction with Belfast City Council and will commence service this Saturday, May 29, running for another three consecutive Saturdays in June from 11am to 4pm.

Peter Carrington from Lisburn Road Business Association said: “This is the first part of our ongoing strategy to heighten awareness of the Lisburn Road amongst the local community and visitors to Belfast.

“Belfast has in its midst one of the finest, most dedicated and diverse range of independent shops and businesses anywhere in the UK or Ireland.

“The Lisburn Road has it all - and not just fashion. We are confident that once people spend some time on the road, they will discover why Google Maps rated us as one of the Top 10 shopping destinations in the UK.

“We would also like to thank Belfast City Council for their support and help with this initiative. It is a great example of an effective and proactive response to the issues facing all small businesses.”
