Co Tyrone candlemakers has entire stock stolen by thieves

A Co Tyrone candlemaker has had its entire stock stolen after being hit by thieves on Thursday night.

Thousands of handmade candles were stolen from Sass & Boho on Tanderagee Road in Pomeroy.

Sass & Boho was one of three adjoining business units broken into between 10.30pm on Thursday and 9am on Friday morning, with a number of items being taken from the other businesses as well.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph Laura McNamee, owner of Sass & Boho, said it could take weeks before the business is operational again.

"It's devastating. It is just even having to buy in all the raw materials and ordering in the packaging to wait for four weeks for that to arrive," she said.

"And then the whole process. We make maybe 200 candles a day. We let them cure for a couple of weeks."

In a Facebook post which has been shared more than 1,000 times Laura urged anyone with any information about the break in to contact police.

The business was set up in 2015 and originally started in Belfast's St George's Market.

It is understood police are currently reviewing CCTV to established the identity of the individuals responsible.

Sass & Boho candles and incense diffusers retail for between £20 and £30.
