Co Tyrone security alert 'noting untoward' but police urge public to be vigilant

A security alert in the Co Tyrone village of Clady has been declared as nothing untoward.

The Urney Road has reopened to traffic following claims an explosive device was been left in the area.

Police have conducted searches of the area and nothing has been found.

A PSNI spokesman added: "Police would continue to advise people living in or travelling through the Clady area to be vigilant and not to touch any suspicious objects, instead inform police straight away by dialling 999."

Meanwhile, a security alert in the Limavady area is continuing.

A suspicious object was reported to police at around 4pm on Thursday.
