Cocaine and ecstasy found in Londonderry

Drug smugglers have managed to sneak £200,000 worth of drugs into Northern Ireland, it has been claimed.

Police in Coleraine said they received a tip off about the huge drugs haul understood to be linked to gangsters, including some with loyalist paramilitary connections, prompting searches in the area.

The PSNI said the huge quantity of cocaine and ecstasy was brought into County Londonderry last weekend.

It is thought the drugs’ find may be linked to a seizure of cannabis worth £800,000 in Derry’s Glengalliagh Road, resulting in one arrest.
