By Staff Reporter

A young mother who died after falling in to the River Bann yesterday has been named locally as Edelle McGlade.

It is believed she had been out on a boat on the river close to Portglenone when she entered the water.

The incident is understood to have happened in the early hours of the morning.

Ms McGlade, who is from Portstewart in Co Londonderry and is believed to have been aged in her 40s, was the mother of three children - Ruairi, Eilis and Riaín.

A death notice described her as the "much loved daughter of Geraldine and the late Patrick Joseph (Pat), dearly beloved sister of Aidan, Maggie McGill and Fiona Harkin and loving grandmother of Annabelle, Patrick and Iola".
