Community service rap for hoax bomb call teenager
A teenager who laughed when police questioned her about a "prank" bomb hoax has been ordered to complete 220 hours of community service.
Kirsty Knox (18), from Meadowbank, Tullygally in Craigavon, pleaded guilty to the improper use of a public communications network and making a hoax bomb call on July 10 last year.
Craigavon Magistrates Court was told three 999 calls were made claiming there was a bomb in Meadowbrook. Officers who went to the scene found an iPhone used to make the call.
Enquiries revealed that it belonged to Knox.
When the calls were played to her later, she "laughed and showed no remorse" for what she said were "prank calls."
Knox's solicitor said it was a case of "silly teenagers under the influence of drink at four in the morning".
