Compensating abuse victims is my priority: Bradley
The Northern Ireland Secretary Karen Bradley has said she hopes to reach an agreement "in the next week" over compensation for victims and survivors of historical institutional abuse.
Mrs Bradley has faced pressure from victims after suggesting the compensation issue should become part of talks to restore power-sharing at Stormont.
After meeting with the main political parties yesterday, she said the issue was "a personal priority for me".
Mrs Bradley said that she asked the parties for an update "on the fundamental questions raised by the Executive Office" that had sparked accusations of using delaying tactics.
She added: "I am eager to come to an agreement in the next week so that I can work with the parties and my Westminster colleagues on the quickest and most effective way to bring this to a robust and fair resolution."
