Councillors for catwalk

The Mayor of Newtownabbey, Alderman John Scott, joined local retailers last week to launch the Mayor’s Charity Fashion Show.

The evening of fashion and fun is being organised to raise money for the mayor’s three charities, Make-a-Wish, Mindwise and the NI Hospice.

The event takes place on Tuesday, May 25, in the Theatre at The Mill. The fashion show kicks off at 7.30pm and will certainly have a ‘local’ theme as joining the Mayor on the catwalk, will be local councillors and council staff.

Fashions will be provided by Joli, Bonita, Woodsides, Telfair Tailoring, Ernest Hall, Corsage, Naomi Bridal and make up by Amour Beauty Clinic.

Speaking at the launch, the mayor commented: “I would like to thank all the retailers for coming on board and supporting this worth while event.

“Special mention must go to the models — my fellow council members and council staff who will be braving the catwalk with me.

“I would encourage you to come along for a great evening and get the latest feel for what’s in fashion and experience the fabulous Theatre at The Mill in a whole new light.”

Tickets cost £15, which includes light refreshments at the interval and are available at the Theatre at the Mill Box Office tel: 90340202 or online at www.theatreatthemill.com Book your pre-show dinner at Mossley Mill restaurant tel: 9034 0022.
