A couple with a small child were uninjured after reports a masked man armed with a shotgun fired through the bedroom window of a house in Lisburn during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened in Mill Street at 3am.

It was reported that two masked men where in the area, with one man armed with a shotgun.

A shot was fired at the front upstairs bedroom window of a house on the street.

Detective Constable McMahon said: “A man and woman in their 20’s and a small child were inside the property at the time of the incident. There were no reports of any injuries, but the occupants were left badly shaken.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who may have any information to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 332 23/06/19.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
