Court date over mortar charges

Two men charged in connection with the discovery of mortars on Londonderry's Letterkenny Road in March will face a preliminary inquiry on November 28.

Seamus McLaughlin (35), of Eastway, and Gary McDaid (37), of Glenowen Park, both in Derry, are charged with conspiracy to cause explosions.

They also face a charge of possessing four improvised mortars with intent to endanger life and possessing items likely to be of use to terrorists, all on March 3.
