Criminal posed as landlord in scam
A criminal with 173 previous convictions pleaded guilty at the Crown Court in Londonderry yesterday to posing as the landlord of two flats in the city and then renting them out to two students.
Mark Kelly (45), who is a serving prisoner in Maghaberry Jail, admitted committing the offences, and in the process causing financial loss to the two students, at flats in Abercorn Road between March 31 and April 7 of last year.
He has also pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving goods stolen from two other flats, also in Abercorn Road, on March 11 of last year.
Judge Piers Grant told Kelly he will be sentenced next Thursday and he returned Kelly into prison custody.
