Customer threatened with scissors during Belfast armed robbery

A customer at a shop in east Belfast was threatened with a pair of scissors during an armed robbery on Saturday.

The incident happened on the Woodstock Road when a man entered a shop armed with a pair of scissors at around 8.20pm.

He threatened a customer with the scissors and demanded money from staff.

He made off with a sum of cash from the till.

He is described as being aged in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5’8” tall and of slim build. 

He was wearing a blue hooded top and grey track bottoms and had a black scarf covering his face. 

The suspect was reported to have been in the company of a pregnant female earlier in the evening.  She is described as being approximately 5’4” tall with blonde hair tied back.  She was wearing a cream coloured coat and pink scarf.

Detective Sergeant McCallum appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw a man matching the description of the suspect, or anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1296 16/02/19.
