Cyclists in US desert challenge for charity
Five daredevils from Northern Ireland are preparing to saddle up and head into 'hell'.
The team of cyclists are setting off to Las Vegas to ride through Death Valley in November for Autism NI.
Over five days the team will cycle through California and Nevada, tackling tough altitudes through the dramatic rocks and shimmering dunes of America's largest national park. In the final stint the team will cycle back to Las Vegas, covering over 450km in blistering heat.
The team is supporting Autism NI, Northern Ireland's main autism charity.
Because of a change in the group, Andrew Lavery, from Newtownabbey, has volunteered for the challenge.
He hasn't had time to arrange fundraising events and is aiming to raise £2,400 in the next six weeks. Anyone wishing to donate can visit www.justgiving.com/andrew-lavery/.
