Cyclists to target bike lane parkers

Cyclists are battling back against the motorists who illegally park in cycle lanes, forcing them to divert into busy traffic.

A group of commuter cyclists is seeking volunteers to document the cars that block cycle lanes on urban clearways during rush hour.

Jonathan Hobbs, who runs cycling blog NI Greenways, is appealing to cyclists to document the cars blocking cycle lanes on their daily commute throughout next week.

He and a group of cyclists have teamed up with the Centre of Excellence for Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast to carry out the research audit and are seeking volunteers to record blocked lanes on all Belfast’s arterial routes throughout the week.
