Day six and the counting grinds on
The marathon count for the European and council elections has entered its sixth day with the end at least several hours away.
Northern Ireland's EU parliament contest, conducted under the single transferable vote proportional representation system, has reached its fifth round of counting.
There are more to come, with five candidates left in the running for two seats remaining to be filled.
Meanwhile re-counting is set to resume at Bromley South, Tower Hamlets, in London's East End.
There is a close race between Labour and Tower Hamlets First group, which supports borough mayor Lutfur Rahman, but no party will have an overall majority on the authority at this stage.
A by-election is pending for one three-seat ward after a candidate's death.
