Death crash trial jury sworn in

A jury has been sworn in to hear the case of a man who denies dangerous driving involving the death of a young man in Londonderry last year.

The case of Jonathan Francis McGonagle (23), from Moyola Drive in the Shantallow area of the city, was expected to start yesterday.

He denies three charges of dangerous driving, one of which includes causing the death of Martin Gallagher (25) on November 1 last year.

Members of the victim's family from Sandale Park were in court for the hearing.

After the jury was formally sworn in the defendant was released on continuing bail until his trial starts today.
