Detectives have launched a murder investigation into the death of a woman from Omagh.

Mairead McCallion, 36, was found with head injuries when police were called to a house in Castleview Court in the town shortly before 11.40am on Sunday morning.

She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but died on Monday.

The PSNI's Serious Crime Branch have established a special incident room at Omagh Police Station. Anyone who can assist with information is urged to call 0845 600 8000.
