Death of woman Edna Walker (31) no longer suspicious

Police are no longer treating the death of a young mother-of- three as suspicious.

The body of Edna Walker (31) was found in a house at Highpark Cross in the Highfield estate in west Belfast on Sunday just after 5pm.

After the results of a post-mortem examination, a police spokesman yesterday confirmed the death was no longer being treated as suspicious.

A 50-year-old man arrested in connection with the death was released unconditionally.

Mrs Walker and her husband Tommy lived together with their son in an end terrace house at Highpark Cross.

She had two other children from previous relationships.

“I saw them over the weekend,” one neighbour said. “Edna was a lovely girl. They wouldn't have passed you without stopping for a chat.”
