Detectives quiz suspect after Belfast carjacking

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man following a vehicle hijacking.

The carjacking happened in the Ormeau Road area of south Belfast on Thursday night.

One man was sitting in the passenger seat of a car parked outside a supermarket at around 9.40pm when another man got in, pushed him out and drove off.

The car was stopped by police a short time later in the Verner Street area and a man was arrested. He remains in custody and is being questioned.
