'Disappeared' bodies search bill hits £4m
More than £4m has been spent searching for the remains of the Disappeared, it has been revealed.
The bill relates to the operation of the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains. The remains of six people suspected of being murdered by the IRA are still missing and 10 bodies have been recovered.
The most recent remains found were of Brendan Megraw (23) from west Belfast, who was abducted in April 1978 and shot by the IRA.
The figure was revealed by Irish Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald in the Dail.
