Dizzee Rascal to headline Belsonic

Dizzee Rascal is to return to Belfast to headline next summer's Belsonic music festival.

The Mercury Prize-winning rapper joins the line-up at Custom House Square for the second time following a successful appearance in 2009.

Last year's event showcased sell-out performances from Florence and the Machine, David Guetta, Biffy Clyro and Paolo Nutini among others.

Dizzee Rascal, whose real name is Dylan Mills, also won a Brit award and his third studio album Tongue in Cheek has been his most successful to date with three UK number one singles.

He headlines Belsonic on Wednesday August 17.

His singles include Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers. He has worked with artists from Florence Welch and Shakira to Calvin Harris.

London-based singer and songwriter Ben Drew, known as Plan B, plays at Belsonic on Thursday August 25.

His album The Defamation of Strickland Banks sold half a million copies in the UK. It features singles Stay Too Long and Prayin'.

Tickets go on sale on December 17.
