Dock Street collision: William James Walker dies after being hit by lorry in Belfast city centre

A man who died after he was hit by a lorry in the Dock Street area of Belfast has been named as William James Walker.

Mr Walker, who was 64, was fatally injured incident at around 3.15pm on Friday.

Police continue to appeal for anyone who was on Dock Street and who witnessed the collision to contact local police in Tennent Street or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 747 of 16/09/16.

Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who travelled along Dock Street or Broughan Street between 2:45pm and 3:15pm and who has a functioning dashboard camera fitted to their vehicle.

Dock Street has since reopened following the incident.
