Dog found dead after 'lead hanging'

A dog has been killed by being hanged from a metal pole by its own lead.

The Jack Russell was found dead in the back garden of its owner's property in Limavady.

Whoever was responsible first took the dog from its kennel at the rear of the Drumachose Park home before hanging it from the nearby pole.

Police have appealed for information to help them catch the culprit.

Officers said the dog was killed some time between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
