Don’t suffer Parkinson’s on your own

The North Down Support Group of Parkinson’s UK is inviting local people to join them for an open meeting in Ards Leisure Centre next month.

The meeting, on Monday, September 6, is for anyone in the area who is affected by Parkinson’s, or is interested in learning more about the condition. The guest speaker will be Eileen Irvine, information support worker with Parkinson’s UK.

The North Down Support Group offers information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson's, their families and carers “to make sure that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone”.

Tony Freedman, chair of the group said: “Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure.

“This meeting is a great opportunity to visit your local branch of Parkinson’s UK, and find out what support is available locally. You can join us in making sure that no one has to face Parkinson’s alone.”

Next month’s meeting begins at 2pm.
