Double killer Hazel Stewart has been enjoying keep-fit classes and pampering by a beautician in prison, it has been revealed.
Stewart — or prisoner F2951 as she is known in Hydebank Wood Prison — also told friends she is “doing fine” as she starts an 18-year jail term for murdering her husband and lover’s wife.
The 48-year-old fitness fanatic has kept herself busy by working out regularly in the prison gym and has been going to spinning classes two or three times a week.
And glamorous Stewart has reportedly been able to get her hair styled by a hairdresser who visits the jail every week.
According to yesterday’s Sunday Life, Stewart was continuing to protest her innocence in a phone call to a friend — despite a jury taking under three hours to convict her of killing Lesley Howell and Trevor Buchanan.
When a pal asked how she had been coping since being found guilty, Stewart replied: “Guilty? I’m not guilty. I didn’t murder anyone.”
During the call she insisted: “I was under Howell’s spell.”
Although she made similar claims during interviews with detectives, no psychologist was produced in court to substantiate her claims that she was in any way not responsible for her actions.
