Dramatic CCTV footage of three men trying to steal Portadown cash machine with stolen digger

Detectives investigating the attempted theft of an cash machine in October have today released CCTV footage in a bid to identify the men involved.

The attempted theft of an automated teller machine (ATM) from a Centra on Dobbin Road, Portadown, took place during the early hours of Thursday, October 23.

Detective Inspector Jill Duffie said: “Around 3am a Manitou Telescopic Telehandler was driven at the ATM machine in an attempt to steal it.

"On being unsuccessful in his attempt to steal the ATM, the driver of the digger then set it alight and entered a white van containing two other males and left the scene.

“The digger was stolen from a building site in Killyman Street, Moy on Wednesday, October 22.

“We are releasing this CCTV footage as part of our investigation to identify either the men involved or the white transit van.

"We believe one of the males may have sustained burn injuries during this incident which required medical treatment."
