A 44-year-old man who was found with alcohol in his blood after attending a two-day wedding last weekend despite being banned from drinking has been fined £1,000.
Anthony Paul McFeely, from John Street in Londonderry, was the best man at his friend's wedding in Co Donegal last Friday, just hours after he had been granted a bail variation to attend the function.
As part of his bail conditions for charges of the theft of a razor blade from the Boots chemist store in the Foyleside shopping centre in September, McFeely was barred from drinking alcohol.
However, when he returned home from the wedding function police called at his address and breathalysed him.
The reading was slightly over twice the legal limit for driving.
