Driver and home owner left shocked after parcel is snatched by thieves

The homeowner has been left in shock after two thieves snatched a parcel from their arms on their doorstep.

The incident took place in the Rainey Way area of south Belfast on Thursday afternoon.

It is understood that around 4.20pm a delivery driver was delivering a parcel to a house on the area.

As the driver was taking the parcel from his vehicle and passing it to the homeowner they were approached by two men in dark clothes with scarves covering their faces.

One of the men pushed the delivery driver out of the way and grabbed the parcel from the homeowner, while the other man punched the delivery driver before making off on foot.

The pair have been described as wearing dark coloured hooded tops with scarves covering their faces.

PSNI Detective Inspector Joanne Harris is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101.
