Driver rammed off road by masked attackers in car with gun

A driver was rammed off the road in Lisburn on Thursday morning by masked attackers with a gun in another car.

The victim was driving his blue Volkswagen Passat along the Oldpark Road, close to its junction with Ivy Hill, when his vehicle was struck from behind and forced off the road by a black Subaru Imprezza.

He noticed one of the people a masked person in the drivers seat and a second in the rear seat of the Subaru - one of which was reported to be carrying a suspected handgun.

The Subaru car made off from the scene and was discovered a short time later on the Beanstown Road.

The man was not injured but left shaken by the incident, which happened at about 10am.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to contact CID in Lisburn Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
