A man arrested by police for drink driving was so drunk he could not tell officers his name.

Police in Omagh have urged drivers to take more caution coming into the Christmas season.

Omagh PSNI posted on Facebook: "The Christmas party season isn’t even on us yet, but from Thursday evening through to Sunday night police across Fermanagh and Omagh made 7 arrests for drink driving offences, with officers describing one man as being so drunk that he was unable to tell them his own name!

"Some of these drivers drew attention to themselves by crashing, weaving from lane to lane or speeding, but a number were reported by concerned members of the community."

On top of this, there were two uninsured cars taken off the roads.

The post added: "Those Christmas traffic jams mightn’t be quite so bad this year! Thank you for helping us to keep the roads safe."
