Drug charge pupil Timmy McGuinness sentenced after finishing exams

By Nevin Farrell

A Co Antrim teenage drug dealer who had his sentencing put back until he completed his A-levels has been ordered to do 140 hours' community service.

Coleraine Magistrate's Court heard that Timmy McGuinness, of Knowehead Dale in Broughshane, Co Antrim, was caught with 13 Ecstasy tablets at Kelly's nightclub, Portrush on April 29.

He also had cocaine worth £40 and six bags of herbal cannabis worth £100 were later found in his house. The defendant had already admitted possessing Ecstasy and cannabis with intent to supply and possessing cocaine.

Sentencing had been deferred until yesterday as McGuinness had been doing an A-level exam on the previous date suggested.
