Drug suspect is due in court at Lisburn Magistrates

A 36-year-old man has been charged with possessing and intending to supply class A and B drugs.

The charges are in connection with the discovery of a large quantity of suspected herbal cannabis and suspected cocaine after police stopped a car in the Hillsborough Road area of Lisburn on Friday afternoon.

The man faces four counts of possessing a class A controlled drug, possessing a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, two counts of possession of a class B controlled drug, two counts of possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and importing a drug.

He is expected to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court today.

Police also uncovered a quantity of suspected drugs during a follow-up search in the Mullberry Park area of Dunmurry.

A 30-year-old woman arrested at the property has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
