Drugs accused man remanded

Police found suspected amphetamines with a street value of more than £1,000 when they stopped a man leaving Londonderry bus station last Friday.

Gary Simpson (30), of Cromore Gardens in Derry, appeared at the city’s magistrates court charged with possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

The court heard that Simpson's house was searched two weeks ago and scales removed.

Judge Barney McElholm remanded Simpson in custody to appear by videolink on October 28.
